MORGAN RAID OHIO CIVIL WAR COMMISSION 1863 A fantastic original piece of Civil War history- As John Hunt Morgan's Command invaded Ohio Governor David Tod issued this commission to Captain JW Henry, Co I, 1st Ohio Militia, Brown County. John W Henry was elected captain by the Brown County men on July 8, 1863, a few days before Morgan's Command entered Ohio. The commission was issued July 20, and is boldly sgd by Governor David Tod, also sgd by Adjutant General Robert Hume, at Columbus,Ohio. A large handsome commission w American eagle illus.
