IDD SOLDIER GENERAL ORDERS BOOK A bound group of Civil War Union Army War Dept Orders Jany to July, 1865, w approx 80 complete orders, all printed, some multipage, w marbled hardboard covers, label ink inscr "General Orders Volunteer Service 1865 George B Bailey, Clerk AGO", incl every thing from POW exchanges to Muster out of Volunteers. Most orders w age stains or darkened margins. Corporal Bailey enl Lawrence, Mass, clerked for the 40th Mass Infantry, , Fort Wagner Siege, Battle of Olustee etc. 1862-64, then w US Army as a clerk in Washington, promoted to sergeant. The orders were bound with green cloth tape, now separated, some orders missing. Inside cover w Lawrence Public Library label, "Gift of George B Bailey". Comes w service data.
