The photo imprint is for JA Leach, Indianola, Iowa, & bears a cancelled US Revenue Stamp, dating this image to 1864-1865. This may be a posthumous image by the Indianola photogrpaher; I can't find any info naming a Warren County Iowan killed at Gettysburg so presume, if the inscription is correct, he was serving with another state unit. VG.

A beautiful, original Pennsylvania Officer's Commission sgd by Governor Andrew G Curtin, issued to Captain McClellan, Juniata, County, as commander of E Company, 101st Pennsylvania Volunteers This striking 17 x 13.5" parchment commission has a fine illus of the state seal, also a fine light blue applied seal, given at Harrisburg, March 23, 1865. Comes w service info for Captain McClellan, a New Holland, Pa born private soldier who rose through the ranks. A few age spots, VG overall.
