IDENTIFIED CIVIL WAR COLONEL VETERAN GAR UNIFORM COAT An original Civil War veteran double-breasted frock coat with double rows of 9 buttons, and matching cuff and tail buttons. The dark blue coat is in wonderful condition, with olive green lining; the sleeves and inside pocket are also lined. This is an early coat, possibly an Model 1872 regulation officers coat. The GAR buttons have early Waterbury Button Company maker stamps. The maker label is present but I cant read it. Inside the collar the lining reverse is ink marked 'Col T Robinson". VG w no mothing.

CIVIL WAR NAMED CARVED BONE ART 1864 An original scrimshaw Civil War bone art item, it appears to be made from a cow rib, inscribed "M. B. Miles 1864" with illus of a dove, a stylized devil's head and a coiled serpent. The reverse also has the inscribed letters "CDM". The rib end is approx 4 x 2.5" The bone end is chipped, obscruing a portion of the letter "M". Overall good with a nice smooth patina. The item came from the estate of Lt Nathaniel Morton, 3rd Massachustts Volunteers, Halifax, Massachusetts.

The CDV mat has embossed stars surrounding the applied chestview image w imprint id "Dexter F Parker". VG, no photographer imprint. Comes w service info- Parker served w the 6th Massachusetts & 10th Massachusetts, wounded at Spottsylvania, he died May 30, 1864 at Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Approx 15 x 12.5", edge wear, corners chipped, Overall VG. The 2nd US cavalry, originally the US Dragoons, exists today as the 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment.

The foreground shows a hand with a team of oxen pulling a sledge- the hand wears a similar hat & coat, w what appears to be a military belt buckle. The scene also includes a boy on a horse and another man posed on the sled, axe on shoulder with heap of cordwood in background. An original Civil War era CDV photo album with 41 photos incl 15 tintypes- with 4 of the same man, possibly Dr Bussey (all postwar). - 26 images are ink identified incl Father William Bussey, a tintype of young Charles Bussey in military style jacket, other Busseys & Rowes, incl " Hattie Bussey Belle of the Family" and a CDV of a forlorn young lady in mourning, rev w ironic caption "For Mother Happy New Year". Most CDVs bear Bangor Maine photo imprints. 24 of the Album images are Civil War era, the rest are postwar circa 1870s images. The Album is much worn, covers rough, spine broken. TENNESSEE CONFEDERATE CIVIL WAR COLONEL FITZGERALD KIA CORINTH Colonel Edward Fitzgerald was an heroic Confederate officer- in 1861 he commanded the Henry guards of Paris, Tennessee, as Major of the 154th Tennessee he was cited for bravery at Shiloh and promoted to Colonel; 6 months later he was Killed In Action leading his men at the Battle of Richmond, Kentucky (Shelby Foote called the Battle the Cannae of the Civil War). An original Civil War Confederate Subsistence Department Provision Return for May, 1862, just after Shiloh, issuing Bacon, Lard, Beef, Molasses, etc to Company E of the 154th at Corinth, Mississippi, & signed by Colonel Fitzgerald. 1p 7 x 12" ptd/injk.
