Circa: NA
Manufacturer: Chevalier Opticien Paris

An original Pair of Civil War era field glasses with leather wrap and black enamel brass body The glasses are approx 7.5 x 5" extended, with black brass eye shades ( missing the leather wrap). The eyepieces are maker marked "Chevalier Opticien Paris", the body tubes are etched in English "Day & Night". The leather wraps show much use, the eyeshades are missing their wraps, but the glasses are overall Good and optics are sound. They are very similar to a pair identified to Medal of Honor awardee Lt Daniel Davis Wheeler, 4th Vermont Volunteers, on exhibit at the Chancellorsville Battl;efield Museum, Virginia. The optics & mechanism are VG overall. Thanks for visiting Mike Brackin Civil War Antiques.
