A nice group of Civil War fortifications at Charleston harbor, late 19th century images from lithographs, incl 1) Fort Johnson, pencil inscribed "Johnsons Fort & Charleston as seen from Battery Gregg", 2) "Confederate Fort", a large brick fort w CS flag, 3) "Confederate Fort showing effects", a view of a shell ruined fort, 4) Another view of a wrecked fort, no inscription, 5) "The Swamp Angel gun used for shelling", shows the gun & soldiers. Each view is approx 4 x 3", with a stamped number on front mat of each. The 5 views came from an East Weymouth, Massachusetts GAR veteran estate. |
