A nice early American militia officer's belt with eagle beltplate, this 1840s era sword belt is black leather with brass loops for hangers (no hanger straps present) and a lovely 2-pc tongue & wreath plate, with raised wing American eagle and 13 stars, applied die-struck tongue disk, oak leaf wreath , similar to M1840 Ames sword-belt plate ( see O'Donnell Plate 287) but with plain belt loops. Leather belt w average wear. |
