Civil War author George Livermore, wrote a history of the Founding Fathers views on slavery & Negro citizenship, which greatly influenced Abraham Lincoln- when Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, he gave the ink pen to Livermore. April 17,1862 letter from Livermore at Boston to son Willie, a West Point Cadet re son's demerits, import of soldierly bearing, good cadet habits, critiques his ragged clothes, untidy shoes etc, & reiterates his love for his son. 4pp ink letter, signed "Yr Aff Father, GL" (Willie Livermore became a career US Army officer and is remembered as father of the American Army War Game). Very Good. Thanks for visiting Mike Brackin Civil War Antiques.
