Group of 8 original Fort Brown Texas telegrams, 7 are standard Western Union telegrams, 1874, issued at Fort Brown by Army QM AS Kimball, to officers at San Antonio and New Orleans, re shipping supplies, best routes, items needed, etc, each is a retained copy signed by an officer, most by Lt John B Nixon, 24th Infantry (a notable officer of the US Colored Infantry in the Kiowa Wars). The 8th is a translated Mexican telegraph company telegram, w English note by an American officer , re supplies from Matamoras, also sgd by a 24th Infantry officer.
