Civil War CDV photo, full standing view of young officer w cavalry sword, tall boots, & exc detail of kepi w "US" wreath, eagle beltplate, captain's rank bars & medal on his chest. This officer was the young Duke of Chartres, an aide to McClellan in the Peninsula & Yorktown campaigns. The photo has an E. Anthony/Brady's National Portrait Gallery backmark. Image vg, w margin stains & wear to corners. An uncommon & famous view.
