Indian Wars era photo of a band of young musicians, in military uniforms, w US shako helmets, instriuments, and lass drum bears the legend "Decorah Drum Corps". 9 x 12" albumen photo on heavy mat, margin ink isncribed "Mobile Ala 1885, New Orleans La 1885 Dubuque Ia, 1885".

Vg, reverse w pencil inscr "Decorah Drum Corps, Ossian Ia, Jack Frost Calmar Ia" " exc detail, scrapes in margins. The Iowa group performed at the New Orleans World Exposition in 1885.
