a really neat excavated artifact- a home made key chain, w keys, dug near Fredericksburg Virginia in the 1960s. The inventive soldier made the chain from a sword brass sword hanger clip & a brass cavalry bridle chain; the chain holds 4 keys-3 iron & & one brass; the latter key is a very early style leg iron key. A very nice example of a Civil War soldier's creative use of field gear.
