a handsome little Civil War ladie's travelling writing set, in a beautiful cherrywood case, approx 12 x 9 x 4", w hinged cover, latter w brass inlay engraved "a gift toi Addie from Milton". The box opens to a tan felt- lined writing surface, w removable glass inkwell (pewter reinforced screw top, no cap), pen box w removable lid, and the writing surface folds to expose space for writing paper. The pen box has an old repair, and the outer lock fitting is gone, but overall very attractive & functional. |
