a fascinating group of Oklahoma Native American items- a handmade pair of lacrosse sticks of traditional native American construction, w rawhide fittings (approx 36" long). These come with a 9 x 1' matted photo of a group of young Creek Indian boys holding their lacrosse sticks, and their team coach. Rev ink inscr JM Northurp with Indian Ball Club". The photo dates to circa 1900, and comes with a 31pp booklet publ by the town of Weleetka, Oklahoma Territory circa 1905, which shows 2 images of the Creek Indian boys lacrosse team, also show Mr Northurp. Booklet ragged but complete. Comes w the , Northrup Estate auction ad listing the lacrosse items. |
