a poignant letter from John Stacy, Framingham, Massachusetts, March 12, 1780, tp his family, reports he is well, not yet paid; will march to Camp, "I have no ned of saying I have reenlisted"… "I hope the time will sun come wen friends friend can liv in pise and ways of war be not heard". "Your loving brother, John Stacy". Bottom of p2 w a list of family members births, deaths to 1792 incl his & brother Caleb, also a soldier, 2pp 8 x 9" ink stampless cover addr to "Samuel Stone, at Fitswilliam"- Stacy joined Colonel Nixons Regt, Cambrdge, June 5, 1775, so fought at Bunker Hill, also fought Brant & Butler's British & Iroquois at Cherry Valley, NY.
