a handsome set of 4 large coat buttons- I believe they were for the Boston Fusilers, a city militia company that formed in the 1850s, served w the 4th Massachusetts Heavy Artillery in the Civil War & was active to the 1880s. The button face shows a large script "BF". reverse w raised lettering "D Evans & Co, Attleboro, Mass". I believe these are post-Civil War, circa 1870s. The set |
