Revolutionary War Soldier's pay certificate, issued by the State of Connecticut, "Connecticut Line, Continental Army" issued June 1, 1782, w ornate border, mkd "The State doth owe to Mr Bliss Hart who hath served in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army being one forth of the balance due to him, which sum shall be paid to him in gold or silver". Issued at Hartford, Ct & sgd by Treasurer John Lawrence. 8 x 5" ptd/ink, w cancellation hole indicating the soldier had been paid. Rev w archive repair. Vg. Bliss Hart was born in Southington, Ct, died in Brookfield, Ohio, 1831.
