POTTSTOWN PENNSYLVANIA FIREMAN BADGE a really unusual fireman's badge- an engraved ladder-style badge showing a firefighter's steam pumper and engraved "Committee Philadelphia S.F.E. Co. No. 1 Pottstown, Pa.". 4-pc stamped sheet tin or potmetal, I believe this is for Steam Fire Engine Company 1, Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and was originally attached to a ribbon as it has no trace of pin bar on the reverse. Silver finish is worn, and one loop for the 3rd ladder rung is missing.

CREEK INDIAN LACROSSE 1905 a fascinating group of Oklahoma Native American items- a handmade pair of lacrosse sticks of traditional native American construction, w rawhide fittings (approx 36" long). These come with a 9 x 1' matted photo of a group of young Creek Indian boys holding their lacrosse sticks, and their team coach. Rev ink inscr JM Northurp with Indian Ball Club". The photo dates to circa 1900, and comes with a 31pp booklet publ by the town of Weleetka, Oklahoma Territory circa 1905, which shows 2 images of the Creek Indian boys lacrosse team, also show Mr Northurp. Booklet ragged but complete. Comes w the , Northrup Estate auction ad listing the lacrosse items.

US EAGLE BELT PLATE a very nice maker marked Indian Wars era cast brass US eagle beltplate, - heavy brass w nice age patina. No keeper. Traces of gilt wash remain. This is a 19th century early post-Civil War plate, w a tiny scroll in front below the wreath, stamped ""E & H", for Evans & Hassall", a Philadelphia maker.

1881 BAYONET a very wicked looking French Infantry rifle bayonet with blade edge handsomely engraved "Mfre d' Armes d' Ouille Mai 1881" Brass pommel, w walnut grips (wood chipped in spots) and locking spring works. The curved guard has ordnance isnpecter markings and is serial numbered.The blade is uncleaned but w pleasing patina, no pitting The blade is 20.5", bayonet is 25" overall. A great den decorater! Vg. No scabbard.

This medal comes with the actual documentation- a 5pp letter from HW Salpaugh, Delaware & Hudson Canal Co, Albany, NY, April 26, 1900, to Doctor Frank R Searles, Springfield, Massachusetts, re n unit reunion & officer elections, and encloses his marksman's badge. Vg w cover. The badge is pinned onto Dr Searles calling card.

SIOUX CHIEF GALL Gall was a fearless leader of the Sitting Bull warriors at Little Big Horn- he charged alone into the mass of Custer's troopers, seizing their company banner. A very scarce image of Gall, early 1880s , w headdress feather bonnet, beaded buckskin jacket, and caption on front "Gall Leader of the Custer Massacre. The Great Orator of the Sioux Nation". Vg. No photo imprint. The only copy of this image I have seen is at The Custer Museum. The image was made by George W Scott, 1882.

A set of pocket gold scales , brass pans & 10 misc brass weights, in cherrywood case, all showing great age, and missing the pan strings. The indsde of the wire hinged lid bears a very old typed paper label, approx 5 x 1.7",marked "used by John Church (father of George Church) who went to California around 1879. Used to weigh gold dust. Brought back by Nellie Church, sister of George Church, after their father's death, about 1892. John Church buried near Mt. Shasta, California." from the Sturbridge, Massachusetts area.
