WORLD WAR TWO RAF OFFICER CALLING CARD GROUP A group of 31 original calling cards for RAF officers, many who served from WWI to WWII. The group includes cards for group Flight Captains, Wing Commanders, Squadron Leaders, Medical Service etc, also a few spouses, includes HS Scroggs (KIA 1941, AJ Pegg (test pilot), PBB Ogilvie, GH Russell (DFC), HJ Pringle, P Polglase, HE Proud, JH Herring, HB Wrigley Fighter Command Air Marshal) GH Vasse, JBM Wallis, JKR Landells, JLN Bennett-Boggs, CT Oneill, CEV Porter, Trafford Leigh-Mallory, RAF Nurse Gladys Taylor, Capt Claude H Keith, etc, total 24 officers and 7 wives. A few of the cards are duplicates, all date from circa 1920s-30s. A few w small age spots, most are VG-Exc, all approx 3.2 x 1.5" . The group

US GENERAL WILLIAM S GRAVES SIBERIAN EXPEDITION COMMANDER PHOTO General William Sidney Graves was a Wyoming Frontier infantry officer but is best remembered as Commander of the Siberian Expedition American Expeditionary Forces, keeping the Trans-Siberian railroad open and providing safe conduct for the Czech Legion during the Allied peacekeeping effort. He was called "the only honorable man" in the catastrophic affair. An original circa 1929 Photo of General Graves taken in Panama where he commanded US Forces on the canal, 1927-29 . General Graves is seated at his desk, with major general rank straps and AEF campaign bar. 8 x 6" w linen back, blue pencil idd "Gen Graves Cristobel (Panama)". VG. Comes w bio info.

The book, titled "Spearheading D-Day- American Special Units", by Jonathan . Cawne is ink signed by an Easy Company Band of Brothers veteran with an inscription "To Mike Brackin- may you always land on the Correct beaches! James Clerk, 5 June 99, The Big E". 288pp. The Easy Company veteran signed this book for me in 1999- I was a friend of one of his comrades who served with him in Easy Company, on D-Day. VG.

The other 2 pilots are US Navy "High Hat" flyers, forerunners of the Navy Blue Angels. This original 8 x 10" photo taken at the Cleveland International Air Show is VG, still mounted on a black 12 x 10" photo album page. The photo comes w a photocopy of the Airshow Dinner Honoring Cleveland's Special Guest Charles A Lindbergh, given August 1, 1927, also from the same Ohio estate.

WORLD WAR ONE 1915 BRITISH 18 POUNDER SHELL CASE An original World War One brass case for 18 pdr field gun. 3 1/4" diameter, 11 1/2" tall. Scarce 1915 date, as used at Gallipoli. Vg. No primer. The best Allied gun of WW1, but shell shortages caused the British Army to be slaughtered at the Somme. a scarce early War date casing.

A nice fired pair of American World War One artillery shell percussion/time fuzes, each w US mkgs "Model of 1907" & time settings. These fired relics are inert, and nice relics of the Argonne Forest, France, 1918.
